Carer Gateway Launched Today

New National Website for Carers is Launched Today

Today, the Australian Government launched the Carer Gateway as part of its commitment to supporting all carers. The purpose of Carer Gateway is to provide information about the services and support available for people who care for someone with a disability, chronic illness, dementia, mental illness or who are frail aged.

Carer Gateway provides information for carers online and by phone:

• Telephone: Carers can call 1800 422 737 from Monday to Friday between 8am and 6pm for information about services and support available.

• Website: Carers can visit www.carergateway.gov.au to access information about caring and support services available to them.

Service finder: Carer Gateway website has an interactive service finder to help carers locate their nearest carer support services.

This resource is for carers and for those who come into contact with carers:

• family and friends
• employees of carer support services (organisations that provide support services for carers)
• employees of service delivery organisations (organisations that provide services to people who need care)
• health professionals
• employees of community organisations and government departments.
