The Carer Advisory Group from Breakthru in Melbourne's west received a day's training at Tandem on 21 April. The Carer Participation  traininghas been developed by Tandem expressly for carers of people with a mental illness, to provide them with information and skills to be able to be fully involved in the treatment and care of the person they care for, and to understand the system and the rights and support that are due to them in the course of their involvement in the system.

The training day marked Gemma Olsen's last day as the Carer Programmes co-ordinator at Breakthru before she took up her new position at the Austin as the Carer and Consumer Participation Co-ordinator.
