Tandem seeks a new CEO

Tandem is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and well-qualified person to lead the organisation

Tandem aims to build its capacity to influence policy development at both state and federal levels; ensuring that families’ and other carers’ involvement, participation and need for support are actively incorporated in all areas.

Strategies to achieve this currently include:
• Further development of key strategic relationships to raise the profile, recognition and value of Tandem
• Expansion and strengthening of Tandem membership base to include specific target groups, provide greater connection with grassroots families and other carers and regional networks and provide a solid base for Board succession planning
• Maximum use of innovative evidence-based initiatives
• Establishment of a consistent and readily recognisable image of Tandem, reinforcing its identity as the peak advocacy body for families and other carers
• Expansion of the funding base of Tandem to build sustainability.
It is expected that the Chief Executive Officer will promote Tandem in the broader community, strengthen its external relationships and policy development activities as well as consolidating its current roles.
In addition to its peak body role, Tandem is specifically funded to administer the Carer Support Fund and to assist with transition to NDIS in Victoria. The Chief Executive Officer is expected to provide oversight of these activities.
The Chief Executive Officer is accountable to Tandem Board for maintaining the financial viability and all other aspects of the organisation’s operations including the achievement of Tandem’s strategic goals. It is expected that the Chief Executive Officer will work collaboratively with the Tandem Board to further refine its strategic direction.
The Chief Executive Officer is also directly responsible for managing and supervising a number of permanent, part-time and sessional staff. This may include contracting Consultants (either as individuals or organisations) to undertake particular tasks or projects.
