Tandem’s 2015 Carer Forum: Caring Counts will be held on May 19th

Registration/tea/coffee from 8:30am

Event starts at 9:30am promptly and will run to 3:30pm

Cnr Bell Street and St Georges Road, Preston

 

This is a FREE EVENT with catering provided.

There is easy access to the venue with plenty of transport options and parking available onsite.

The venue is wheelchair friendly.

FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

TANDEM

Rural and regional carers are encouraged to seek financial assistance to travel and for accommodation from their area mental health service carer support fund coordinator or your local Commonwealth Respite and Carerlinks Centre.

Those who are unable to access these services can apply directly to Tandem for financial support for travel and/or overnight accommodation.

Please call Tandem Admin on P:8803 5555 to apply and have your pension or healthcare card handy along with your full contact details. Financial assistance to rural and regional carers is limited so please call early to avoid disappointment.

Commonwealth Respite and Carelink Centres

INTERPRETERS

Commonwealth respite and Carelink Centre can assist you with an interpreter on the day. To find your local service provider, click here

ACCOMMODATION & TRANSPORT

Accommodation and transport assistance can also be provided through these services. See above link to contact your local agency.

Area Mental Health Services

If you care for someone who is currently engaged with a public area mental health service, you may be eligible to access the carer support fund which can support your attendance. Please contact the Carer Consultant or case manager in your service to ask for more details.

 

 

HOW DO I GET THERE?

Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre is situated prominently on the corner of St Georges Road and Bell Street, Preston. Melways Ref: 30 E1.

DRIVING

From the City: take Brunswick Street from Victoria Parade travelling north, continue on St Georges Road to corner of Bell Street.

From Airport: take the Tullamarine Freeway, exit at Bell Streetand travel 6km to corner of St Georges Road.

PARKING

The Darebin Arts & Entertainment Centre Car Park provides 180 unrestricted car spaces. Enter the car park via Peter Street or St Georges Rd. Unrestricted parking is also available on St Georges Rd(East end).

Disabled Parking: 4 disabled car spaces are available in the car park.      

PUBLIC TRANSPORT

Train: Epping line train to Bell Station. The Darebin Arts Centre is a further 2-3 minute walk along Bell St.     

Tram: Tram 11 from Collins St to West Preston stopping at the corner of Miller Street and St Georges Rd.

Tram 86 from Bourke St to Bundoora, stopping at the corner of Bell St and Plenty Rd, Preston. Stop 44, a further 7-10 minute walk to the Darebin Arts Centre.

Route 112 Tram - South Melbourne / St Kilda Beach to West Preston. Stop 40 at the corner of Bell St and Gilbert Rd, a further 10 minute walk to the Darebin Arts Centre.        

CYCLING

High St and Plenty Rdare the major cycling corridors within Darebin, travelling North to South of the municipality. Specific bike lanes are available on Murray Rd and Gower St, Preston.
